Although it’s still early days, GMO labeling will be required on most packaged foods sold in the US. Whether Americans will reject products containing genetically modified ingredients remains to be seen. Some categories like baby food may be more sensitive than others.
Options for brand owners include reformulating, going organic or leaving the formula as is.
Now’s the time to review and update raw ingredient specifications, to comply with the law’s definition for “bioengineered”.
